Sedation (Sleep) Dentistry - Dentistry Asleep

Patients have the option to be sedated or completely asleep during their treatment, whichever will make you feel most comfortable.

We have Anaesthetists and Registered Nurses on staff to ensure your well-being and safety.

We can complete virtually any dental treatment through Sleep Dentistry including cleanings, fillings, extractions, implants, surgery, crowns and root canals – even children’s dental work!

Sedation Dentistry: Dental Care While You Sleep

At AXIS Dental Group, you’ll find a caring environment focused on creating positive dental experiences. We’re completely committed to this and do whatever we can to ensure our patients are completely relaxed and comfortable.

One way we deliver on this philosophy is by offering patients the option to be asleep or sedated during their dental treatments. This procedure, known as Sleep Dentistry, Dentistry Asleep, or Sleep and Sedation Dentistry involves the use of some level of sedation to make the patient unconscious or asleep. The dental procedures are then performed while you’re in this state.

We understand that some people experience high levels of anxiety just thinking about visiting the dentist. Sleep Dentistry makes it possible for you to be totally relaxed during your dental treatments. It’s much like going to sleep and waking up with all your dental work done. You won’t feel any discomfort and you’ll wake up to a new smile with little stress and anxiety.

Dr. Terry Papneja and his team have over 30 years of experience in the area of Sleep / Sedation Dentistry so you can have complete confidence that you’re in good hands.

General Anaesthesia, Deep Sedation and Conscious Sedation

At AXIS Dental Group, our goal is to ensure your complete comfort and satisfaction. As a result, we offer several different levels of sedation based on your own unique situation and needs. We’ll sit down with you and discuss the option that’s best for you.

  1. General Anaesthesia – you're completely asleep and unconscious
  2. Deep Sedation – you’re unconscious but not in as deep a state of sedation; you should experience a faster recovery from this type of sedation
  3. Conscious Sedation – you remain conscious and responsive but are in a state that enables treatments to be carried out

If you’re unsure which level of sedation might be best for you, we encourage you to contact us to setup an appointment to discuss these options in greater detail.

To accommodate your needs, we offer a wide variety of dental treatments through Sleep / Sedation Dentistry. These include:

  • Fillings

  • Extractions – including Wisdom Teeth
